- README.txt containing setup instructions
[ FEATURES ]
- Theory Presets: Analogous, Triadic, Complementary, Split-Complementary, and Monochrome
- Artistic Presets: Random, Sub-Zero, Deep Forest, Vivid, Noir & Neon, Vintage, Thin Film
- Optional 'Starting Color' which will integrate into the Theory presets (random colors if disabled)
- Precise control over Knots, Spacing, Hue, Saturation, and Brightness
- Octane Live Link: Real-time synchronization between the generated gradient and an Octane Gradient
[ WORKFLOW ]
- Click any color preset button to create the 'GRADIENT_GENERATOR' Null.
- All gradient data is stored in the Null's User Data, and can be copied/saved from there.
- Select an Octane Material, enable 'Live Link', and click 'Add to Selected Octane Material' to sync the Generator Gradient with an Octane Gradient Node.
- For Redshift materials, save the gradient as a preset to your asset browser, and load it from a Ramp Node in your material.
[ CONTROLS ]
- Knots: Sets the number of color points (knots) in the gradient (2-20)
- Spacing Bias: Shifts knot density left or right (0-100%, 50% default)
- Spacing Noise: Add slight randomness to knot position (0-100%), press 'Shuffle' to change random seed
- Hue Offset: Shifts the entire color palette around the HSL color wheel (0-360°)
- Saturation: Scales the intensity of the colors (0-100%, 50% default)
- Brightness: Scales the value (lightness of the colors) (0-100%, 50% default)
- Brightness Range (Floor/Ceiling): When enabled, ignores Brightness, and allows you to remap the brightness between the start/end knots (0-100%)
- Reset: Resets all sliders to their default values
- TIP: Right click the arrows on any input box to reset it to the default value
[ MODES ]
- Analogous: Colors adjacent to each other on the wheel.
- Complementary: Two colors from opposite sides of the wheel.
- Triadic: Three colors equally spaced (120° apart).
- Split-Comp: A base color and the two colors adjacent to its complement.
- Monochrome: Variations in saturation and brightness of a single hue.
- Random: Total randomization of all color parameters.
- Sub-Zero: Icy blues and high-value teals.
- Deep Forest: Earthy greens and muted shadows.
- Vivid: Maximum saturation and high-energy hues.
- Noir & Neon: Alternating black (low value) and bright neon knots.
- Vintage: Desaturated, lower-contrast "retro" tones.
- Thin Film: Mimics the iridescent shift of oil on water or soap bubbles.
